After a three-year absence from the islands, two of the Motor City’s renowned vocal groups, the Temptations and the Four Tops, will return to Hawaii in August.

Local promoter Tom Moffatt announced earlier today that the two groups will appear in concert together during an interisland tour that includes the Blaisdell Arena on Aug. 12, the Waikoloa Bowl on the Big Island on Aug. 14 and the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on Aug. 15. The Temptations’ Otis Williams and the Tops’ Abdul “Duke” Fakir are the original members who are helping to keep alive hits that date back to 1964.

Tickets for all three concerts go on sale Saturday; for information, call Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000 (Oahu and the Big Island shows) or (808) 242-7469 (Maui), or visit www.ticketmaster.com.
