Prosecutors have charged three people who allegedly broke into a senior citizen’s apartment in Kaimuki and stole the victim’s cash, credit cards and truck.

Police arrested the trio Wednesday about 7:30 a.m. after spotting the truck near Kahekili Highway and Haiku Road in Kaneohe.

Charged were Kalima Smith, 18, of Kaimuki; Kaleiohulani Joshua Medeiros, 20, of Kaneohe; and Mariah R. Aguirre, 19, of Waimea. All three had bail set at $11,000.

According to court documents, the three broke into an apartment on Waialae Avenue on Wednesday, took several items — including $700 in cash and the truck keys — and drove off with the truck.

Police stopped the truck that morning with Smith in the driver’s seat, documents said. Officers also allegedly found methamphetamine and marijuana in the vehicle.

All three were charged with drug offenses, auto theft and first-degree burglary.
