Mililani team wins Botball tourney

A five-student team from a small private school in Mililani took top honors at the International Botball Tournament in Illinois this week. The Hanalani School students competed against 64 teams from around the globe.

They won Sunday after three intense days of competition.

The students on the team are Steven Ching, Daniel Englehart, Michael Nakamoto, David Nakamoto and Jonathan Neumann. Their coach is Chenfu Chiang.

The team took second place in 2009.

Coming up

The International Space Station will co-star in a spectacular sky show this weekend. Venus, Mars, Saturn and a slim crescent moon occupy the western skies and Mercury is visible briefly after sunset.

On Saturday about 8:53 p.m., the station will rise in the northwest and thread right between Venus and Mars. On Sunday, the station will rise in the northwest about 7:44 p.m. and set in the southeast.
