The University of Hawaii has announced two interim deans have received two-year appointments.

The Board of Regents approved Sylvia Yuen’s appointment as interim dean and director for research and cooperative extension of the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources. The appointment became effective Friday.

The college’s current dean, Andy Hashimoto, has returned to his faculty position.

Meanwhile, Manoa Chancellor Virginia S. Hinshaw has approved the appointment of Noreen Mokuau as interim dean of the Myron B. Thompson School of Social Work.

As of Aug. 1, Mokuau will replace Jon Matsuoka. He is resigning to assume the position of president and CEO of the Consuelo Foundation next month.
