Hawaii’s own Amy Hanaiali‘i may have already traveled the world with her music, but she’s never been to the Lone Star State.

That will change when Hanaiali‘i shares the stage with current Maui resident and Dallas native Deborah Vial at the House of Blues Dallas on Friday, Aug. 20.

“I’m excited to be heading to Dallas,” Hanaiali‘i said in a news release. “I’m planning on sharing a little rock ‘n’ roll, a little jazz and a lot of Hawaii.”

Vial, now a full-time Haiku resident, is a well-known name in the Texas music circuit. After Vial attended one of Hanaiali‘i’s jazz performances, the two became fast friends and a trip to Dallas was born.

“I’m looking forward to showing Amy my Dallas,” Vial said, “and I hope the people embrace her as much as I have.”

Hanaiali‘i’s latest album, “Friends & Family of Hawai‘i,” includes a duet with country legend Willie Nelson, a part-time Maui resident, in a cover of Van Morrison’s “Have I Told You Lately?”
