This is one ball that won’t get lost in the sand.

The "Soccadelic" is neon orange and especially made for beach soccer. Made of EVA sponge, it’s soft to the touch, lighter than a regulation soccer ball and easy on bare feet or tootsies protected by sand socks.

Need a visual? Check out next weekend’s Hawaii Sand Soccer Championships at Fort DeRussy Beach.

Organizer Jeff Kuester is expecting about 100 teams and 1,000 competitors on the sand fields. The matches are fast-paced with two 15-minute halves and 5-on-5 play with unlimited substitutions.

Kuester is hoping to bring the pro tour to Hawaii next May as well as open an indoor soccer arena.

Want to get a jump on practicing? Balls and socks will be available for $20 each at the tournament.
