Oceanic Time Warner, the Hawaii cable-TV provider, Lifetime television and Ka restaurant teamed up Wednesday to celebrate Andy South, the Honolulu designer who is currently competing on Season 8 of “Project Runway.”

Models were on hand to give fans and industry observers a look at South’s fall/winter designs in form-fitting fabrics and shades of gray and black. After the demo and a meet-and-greet, the models gathered around a display by The Little Cupcake to nibble on the sweets.

South, rocking a mohawk, was friendly and composed, and gracious to fans, posing for photos and answering questions about his plans. He said he’s moving into a third-floor studio in Chinatown and that he’s open to collaborating with venues on a First Friday event in the future.

South said he was also looking ahead to his return to New York next month for interviews and appearances in connection with the “Project Runway” finale and winner reveal — and Fashion Week, when top designers’ collections, including designs by the “Project Runway” winner, will be revealed in the city.
