A tip led to the arrest and charging of three men in connection with a robbery in Kauai Village on Saturday, Kauai officials said.

Akoni Davis, 21, of Hanamaulu and Vicente Hilario, 23, of Anahola, were both charged with first-degree robbery. Kyle Akau, 24, of Anahola, was charged with first-degree robbery and several drug and gun offenses, Kauai police said.

Bail was set at $20,000 for Davis, $100,000 for Hilario, and $87,150 for Akau.

Responding to a tip, officers spotted Hilario and Akau about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in Wailua, where they tried to run before their arrest, police said. Davis was arrested at his home about the same time.

Kauai police said the robbery occurred about 2:40 p.m. Saturday and led to the closure of part of the Kauai Village parking lot, fronting Safeway for about three hours.

A Kauai spokeswoman did not have further details on the robbery.
