Honolulu Fire Department rescue personnel yesterday helped free two people trapped in an overturned vehicle near the Kamehameha Highway underpass in Waipahu.
The incident, which happened about 1 p.m., led to traffic congestion on the H-1 and H-2 freeways through mid-afternoon.
HFD spokesperson Capt. Earle Kealoha said the two occupants were not “pinned” in the overturned vehicle, but could not open the doors to exit. They were transferred to the care of Emergency Medical Services personnel. Their condition was not immediately known.
