Victim of bus-bicycle crash identified as UH student
The 21-year-old bicyclist who died after a tour bus hit her Friday afternoon was identified by a friend Saturday as Taryn Wright.
Wright was riding a bicycle on Dillingham Boulevard when a Robert Hawaii bus turned right at Waiakamilo Road and struck her.
Wright identified her hometown as Paarl, South Africa, on her Facebook profile. Her profile states she was a student at University of Hawaii at Manoa, and worked as a waitress at Rock Bottom Bar & Grill on University Avenue.
Rock Bottom owner Edo Gschweng said police informed him that Wright was the victim.
