A 26-year-old man was arrested for stealing a mo-ped in Waikiki last night after a friend of the mo-ped’s owner spotted it on the road.

The victim, 24, reported the mo-ped stolen at 7:30 a.m. yesterday, police said.

About 9:35 p.m., a friend of the mo-ped owner flagged down a police officer to report seeing a man operating the stolen two-wheeler.

The officer located the mo-ped and tried to stop the driver. The suspect dropped the mo-ped and attempted to flee to a nearby parking structure. He was caught by police there and arrested.
