Love reignites in Bangkok in Lee’s ‘Sayonara Itsuka’

Director John Lee, who is attending HIFF this year for his film "71: Into the Fire," has a Japanese film, "Sayonara Itsuka," being released in Hawaii on Oct. 15 at Pearlridge Consolidated. Here is CJ Entertainment’s synopsis:

Higashigaito Yutaka is transferred to the Bangkok branch of Eastern Airlines. In three months he will marry Michiko, a relative of the airline’s founder, and though he doesn’t love her, he knows he could be CEO one day if they wed. In Thailand Yutaka meets a girl, Touko, and is instantly drawn to her.

His relationship with her intensifies as the wedding date approaches, but he eventually decides to break up with her to proceed with his wedding. Twenty-five years later they bump into each other and realize their love for each other remains, but reality pulls them apart once again.

"I Am Legend"
Episodes 5 and 6

Tonight, 6:45 p.m.: Seung-hae accuses Seol-hee of marriage fraud. Hwa-ja and Soo-in tells Seol-hee she needs a lawyer to fight Ji-wook and Seung-hae. Ran-hee’s manager tells her to apologize to Seol-hee, angering her. He tells her to give in and apologize for the sake of the documentary.

Tonight, 7:45 p.m.: A mysterious man follows Seol-hee home and offers her crucial evidence against Ji-wook. Seol-hee is hesitant about accepting his offer. The band meets Areum’s baby, but Areum lies and tells that it’s her baby brother. Tae-hyun asks the live music cafe owner to put Madonna Band back on stage and promises to perform at the cafe in exchange.

"Definitely Neighbors"
Episodes 39 and 40

Tomorrow, 7:45 p.m.: Sun-ok talks to Ji-yong before deciding about Jong-min. Mee-jin makes matters worse by going to see Jong-soon again. She tells Jong-soon she’s unreasonable and Jong-soon is furious. Sung-jae is caught in the middle. Sang-kyu has a talk with Gun-hee after he catches Gun-hee giving Ji-yong a massage. Yong-ju goes to Ha-yong’s workplace, making Ha-yong flustered.

Tuesday, 7:45 p.m.: Sung-jae asks Mee-jin to agree to live with his mom temporarily. But she tells him that she can’t do it. So Sung-jae tells his mother that he won’t marry Mee-jin, to which his mother happily agrees. Gun-hee asks Ji-yong to marry him out of duty. Mee-jin’s mom wants to know what’s taking so long to meet Sung-jae’s family. Yong-sil gives Woo-jin the answer he wanted to hear.

"My Girlfriend Is a Nine-tailed Fox"
Episodes 5 and 6

Wednesday, 7:45 p.m.: Daewoong realizes Miho is gone and jumps with joy. He gets a call from Hyein and runs out to meet her. Dongju sees Miho wandering the campus, takes her to his place and offers her a red bottle that will take her back home and a blue bottle to make her human.

Thursday, 7:45 p.m.: Miho is happy to have become Daewoong’s girlfriend. Daewoong, however, is not happy about it. He tells her that they’re together for only 100 days. Miho tells Daewoong she wanted to get married and live in the human world, but no one wanted to get close because of the rumor that a nine-tailed fox eats human livers.

"Life Is Beautiful"
Episodes 43 and 44

Friday, 7:45 p.m.: Suja and her husband get into another fight over a misunderstanding. Suja falls trying to get away from her husband, breaking her arm. Gyungsu’s mom calls Gyungsu to tell him Father has had another heart attack.

Saturday, 7:45 p.m.: Chorong explodes on Hosup when she hears he asked Yeonju to make kimbap for her, telling him it’s too much work. The three end up ordering Chinese. Byungtae, Byunggul and Minjae go with Byungjun to Ara’s for dinner.
