Care for bare skin

It’s difficult to show a swimsuit to its advantage when skin is rough and dry, so Maui-based Letarte, long known for its elite collection of swimwear, cover-ups and sportswear, has debuted its own line of hydrating skin care lotions and oils.

"Our new lotions and oils bring a bit of the islands to all of our customers," said designer Lisa Letarte Cabrinha. "Plus, they promise to keep skin supple and healthy."

Letarte’s Vanille Polynesia lotion ($39) combines aloe vera and shea butter in a medley of patchouli oil, vanilla, orange, sugar and almond fragrances to heal weather-worn skin. ‘Alia Hinu oil ($54) combines argan, coconut and essential oils for skin hydration.

They’re available in 8-ounce bottles and 2-ounce travel sizes ($24 set) at the Letarte flagship store in Paia, Maui, online at letarteswimwear.com or at Becca Beach at The Kahala Hotel.
