Pitchin’ accomplished as Bushes attend Series

ARLINGTON, Texas » Game 4 of the World Series had a presidential doubleheader.

The father-and-son team of former Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush started off the game last night in what Major League Baseball said was the first time two former presidents attended the same World Series game.

George W. Bush, the 43rd president, threw the ceremonial first pitch with his dad, the 41st president, at his side.

The younger Bush is a familiar face at Rangers Ballpark. He was controlling owner of the team from 1989 until he became Texas governor in 1995. His group owned the team until selling to Tom Hicks in 1998.
