Industry veteran Barlow is named Oceanic president

Cable industry veteran Bob Barlow has been named president of Oceanic Time Warner Cable, to succeed Nate Smith, who left the post in June.

Barlow began his 30-year cable career as a finance manager for Time Warner Cable and most recently served as president of TWC’s San Diego division. He has also served the company in executive positions in South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida and Indiana, his home state.

He earned a master’s degree in finance from Indiana University.

Smith has since been promoted to senior vice president of business development in Time Warner Cable’s corporate offices in New York City and is traveling the globe supporting the company’s international expansion.
