Hawaiian Air rated tops in on-time performance for September

The Air Travel Consumer Report by the U.S. Department of Transportation says Hawaiian Airlines had the best on-time performance in the industry in September.

It says Hawaiian led all carriers nationwide in punctuality during the month, with 95.8 percent of its flights arriving as scheduled.

The report says Hawaiian also had the industry’s best record for fewest canceled flights, with only two out of 5,484 flights in September.

The DOT report covers 18 airlines.

Meanwhile, the Department of Transportation also reports Hawaiian had the fewest oversales during the third quarter, with a perfect score of zero involuntary denied boardings of passengers.
