After my two-week trip to Korea for a successful foodie tour, making deals with networks and meeting film industry people, I can assure you that many popular TV dramas and films are coming soon. This week we have "Doctor Champ" and "Dae Mul" starting.

SBS network continues to air hit series with "Secret Garden" starring Hyeon Bin and Ha Ji Won starting this week in Korea and slated for late December or early January on KBFD. The writer for "Secret Garden" Kim Eun Sook is known for her past hits such as "Lovers in Paris," "Lovers in Prague," "Lovers," "On Air" and "City Hall." In mid-December, "Athena the Goddess of War" will start in Korea and will air here in late January or early February.

THIS WEEK’S SYNOPSES

"Doctor Champ"
Episodes 1 and 2

Today, 6:45 p.m.: Kim Yeon-woo is a orthopedics resident who seems to have a bright future ahead of her. But her plans come to a sudden halt when she witnesses her teacher’s mistake during surgery and decides to expose him. Ji-heon is a judo athlete who hopes to make the national team. Yeon-woo attends Ji-heon’s judo match and performs emergency surgery on his leg when he’s injured.

Today, 7:45 p.m.: Ji-heon’s injury costs him the final match, but he makes the team. He finally gets to move into Taerung National Village, the national training center. Yi Do-wook, a young and competent rehab specialist, becomes the new chief of medicine there.

Episodes 51 and 52

Tomorrow, 7:45 p.m.: Sung-jae overhears Mee-jin’s friend saying that she thinks he’s with Mee-jin for her money because he’s very different from her late husband. Woo-jin tells Soo-hee that there’s no hope for them. He says that he’d rather die as her husband on paper as long as he doesn’t have to see her again.

Tuesday, 7:45 p.m.: Ji-yong is devastated after she finds out that her mother is still alive. Sung-jae finds a desolate In-soo outside Ji-yong’s house. Ki-hoon sees Ha-yong’s manager drop her off at home again. This makes him suspicious, especially after he sees the manager give her a gift. Sung-jae has doubts about getting married.

Episodes 1 and 2

Wednesday, 7:45 p.m.: Hyerim falls asleep on the bus on her way to a job interview when she feels a hand on her butt. She grabs the hand and accuses the man of sexual harassment. Doya, who was also on the bus, comes to her rescue, and the two end up in the police station together. Doya helps Hyerim get to the interview on time.

Thursday, 7:45 p.m.: Hyerim is devastated by her husband’s death and tramples on the flowers the president sent. Hyerim goes to the National Assembly Building to protest her husband’s wrongful death. She goes back to her job, and on live radio she criticizes the government. Doya is demoted for arresting an assemblyman’s wife.

Episodes 55 and 56

Friday, 7:45 p.m.: Gyungsu and Taeseop come back to Gyungsu’s place after a date and find Gyungsu’s mother. Taeseop tries to leave, but Gyungsu’s mother asks him to stay for dinner. Although she can’t fully accept Gyungsu and Taeseop’s relationship, Gyungsu’s mother says she’ll acknowledge Taeseop as Gyungsu’s best friend.

Saturday, 7:45 p.m.: Byungtae’s mother gives him the gold pins and rings her husband gave her and tells him to buy his father’s grave clothes. Minjae is worried that her mother-in-law might have a premonition of her husband’s death. Donggun breaks up with Chorong.
