Patient testifies that Wahiawa doctor wanted son’s mother dead

Wahiawa physician Dennis Ayon will stand trial in state court charged with trying to hire a patient to kill his ex-girlfriend.

Honolulu District Judge Gerald Kibe sustained the criminal solicitation charge after hearing testimony this afternoon from the patient.

Linda Moore said Ayon was visibly upset when he told her in his office on Nov. 6 that he wanted the mother of his 4-year-old son dead and asked her if she could help him.

“His forehead was red and he was sweating bad. It was scary,” Moore said.

But she said she thought he was joking.

It wasn’t until the next day when she discovered the telephone number Ayon had provided her was indeed his ex-girlfriend’s that Moore said she realized Ayon was serious.

Moore said she called the woman, met her at Aloha Tower Nov. 8, then the both of them went to police.

Ayon, 48, remains in custody in lieu of $1 million cash bail. He’s scheduled to appear in state Circuit Court for arraignment Nov. 29.
