Hawaii stays at No. 3 in volleyball poll

The Hawaii women’s volleyall team, riding a 22-match win streak, remained at No. 3 in the AVCA Coaches Top 25 poll released today.

The Rainbow Wahine (27-1, 16-0 Western Athletic Conference) are seeking their 11th consecutive WAC tournament championship this week in Las Vegas. Hawaii has a bye into tomorrow’s semifinal and will face the winner of today’s match between Idaho and Boise State.

Florida (26-1) stayed at No. 1, with 50 first-place votes. California (24-2), traded places with Stanford (22-3), the team it beat last week, with the Golden Bears moving to No. 2 and the Cardinal dropping to No. 4.

Nos. 5 through eight remained the same: Nebraska (25-2) at No. 5, followed by USC (24-4), Penn State (25-4) and Texas (21-5). UCLA (21-7) moved up a spot to No. 9 while Illinois (22-6) dropped a spot to No. 10.
