Hawaii sweeps Idaho in WAC volleyball semifinal
Kanani Danielson put down 18 kills and Chanteal Satele added 13 to lead No. 3 Hawaii to a 25-11, 25-21, 25-16 win over Idaho in tonight’s Western Athletic Conference tournament semifinal in Las Vegas.
The Rainbow Wahine (28-1) will play Utah State tomorrow for the WAC championship. The Aggies (22-8) upset second-seeded New Mexico State in today’s earlier semifinal, 25-23, 20-25, 25-21, 22-25, 16-14.
Hawaii ran its streaks to 23 consecutive matches and 62 consecutive sets. The Wahine are going for their 11th straight WAC tournament title.
Elizabeth Ka’aihue had 22 digs and Danielson 11. Satele hit .619 with no errors on 21 attempts.
