Ala Moana Center

Hawaii’s largest mall will be rewarding Black Friday shoppers with complimentary perks, giveaways and special events from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. tomorrow, whether they’ve been naughty or nice throughout the year.

Deal seekers can plan their day in advance by studying the center’s Cheat Sheet, which outlines all early morning specials, one-day sales, promotions and events. The sheets are available at the Customer Service Center, mall-level information kiosks or at www.AlaMoanaCenter.com. There will be 1,000 printed Cheat Sheets labeled with a "You Win" sticker, good for a cup of coffee from Nordstrom’s Bar.

Black Friday participating merchants include Banana Republic, T&C Surf Designs, Victoria’s Secret and more.

Shoppers with receipts totaling $500 will receive a limited-edition snow globe featuring Ala Moana Center’s iconic Santa, while supplies last, with a limit of one per person. Receipts dated from Nov. 22 to Dec. 24 can be redeemed at Customer Service. Participants must be 13 or older, and receipts from gift-card purchases are excluded.

Stay hydrated and focused by picking up complimentary bottled water at one of six Refresh stations throughout the mall.

Parking is always a nightmare but we’re helping. Look in the Star-Advertiser today for a coupon good for complimentary valet parking, and pull into three locations on Level 2: makai parking deck by Sears; makai side between LeSportsac and Macy’s; and in the mauka-Ewa parking structure by Longs Drugs. You can also look for the coupon online at www.AlaMoanaCenter.com or in this week’s Midweek.

As for extra help, sans elves, center concierges will be able to lend assistance, and there will be free gift wrapping and package-check services at Mall Level 2, above Barnes & Noble.

In addition, the center is offering an opportunity to win your own personal Santa who will shop for, wrap and deliver up to 10 gifts (or up to $1,000 worth of gifts) for those on your gift list. The winner will meet with and review their list with their personal Santa, and gifts will be hand-delivered to the winner’s home Dec. 20.

To enter, pick up the November/December 2010 issue of Ala Moana Magazine and fill out an entry form. Entries must be received at Customer Service by 9 p.m. Tuesday. The winner will be contacted by Dec. 3. The contest is limited to one entry per person, and the winner must be a Hawaii resident.

Additional perks and online exclusives may be available to those who follow @AlaMoanaCenter on Twitter or Facebook.

Pearlridge Center

Extended holiday hours begin tomorrow, when the center will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. through Dec. 9. Closing time will be 10 p.m. Dec. 10-16 and 11 p.m. Dec. 17-23. The mall will close at 6 p.m. Christmas Eve and will be shuttered Christmas Day.

When your kids start to whimper and whine in the middle of your shopping chores, perk up their spirits with a ride on the Pearlridge Express, geared toward keiki under 48 inches tall. Tickets for the train rides are $3. If you have a large brood or are baby-sitting, a 10-coupon booklet is $25, for savings of $5. The train runs 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily through Jan. 2, with reduced hours of 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Christmas Eve and Dec. 26 through Jan. 2.

Kids can also be photographed with Santa from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to closing tomorrow through Christmas Eve.

And look for the Salvation Army Angel Tree Uptown, first level, between Island Legacy and Starbucks tomorrow through Dec. 19, to help grant the wish of a needy child or senior citizen who would not otherwise receive Christmas gifts.

Windward Mall

Windward Mall starts its Black Friday "The Blitz @ 6" at 6 a.m. tomorrow, when the first 500 early birds will receive a free holiday coupon bag with dozens of special offers and a chance to win prizes including a one-night stay at the Outrigger Luana Waikiki and breakfast for two at the hotel’s new Protea Cafe, a $500 Ko’olau Pets gift card, toys, merchant gift cards and more.

The lower-level Food Court entrance doors (next to IHOP) will open at 5:45 a.m., with bag distribution to begin at 6 a.m. One bag will be distributed per adult shopper, while supplies last. Prizes will be randomly placed within the 500 coupon bags. All prizes must be collected at the Information Cart at Center Court by noon tomorrow.

Additionally, KINE’s "Santa’s Helpers," deejays Billy V and Bruddah Wade, will be at the mall throughout the morning to give out prizes.

When you’re tired of shopping, stop for a visit at the Dear Santa letter-writing station, Flurry Tree, Toyworks Santa set, or sit for a photo with St. Nick.

Spread holiday joy by visiting the Salvation Army Angel Tree from 1 to 8 p.m. daily through Dec. 17 to help make the holidays a little brighter for a child or senior citizen in need. Simply choose an angel from the tree and purchase a gift to fulfill that person’s wish. Then return the unwrapped gift with the lower portion of the angel card.

Starting tomorrow, shoppers may redeem $100 in same-day Windward Mall receipts at Customer Service at Center Court to receive a free Windward Mall gift, with a limit of one gift per person, per day.
