SIGNS OF HAWAIIAN LIFE IN THE UNIVERSE | On a recent trip to Venice, Italy, Joan Robinson-Whitaker and John Whitaker of Aiea saw this sculpture by architect and designer Le Corbusier. Called "The Open Hand," it looked to the Whitakers like the shaka sign and reminded them of home. The sculpture is at the Universitario di Architettura di Venezia, Tolentini, Santa Croce.
