Lost newcomer robbed at knifepoint in Waikiki
A man who got lost in Waikiki was robbed last night at knifepoint, police said.
The victim, a 22-year-old man, is new to Hawaii and got lost while walking in Waikiki, police said. A man in his 20s approached him and asked for a cigarette, while a second suspect, also described as a man in his 20s, held a pocketknife against the victim’s back, police said.
The first suspect demanded money and also pulled out a pocketknife, police said. The suspects fled with the victim’s wallet, cellphone and jewelry at about 10:30 p.m.
Police did not give the exact location of the robbery.
