» The Play: P Michael Such kicks the ball to Kealoha Pilares at the Hawaii 10, where Pilares is tackled immediately by Bryan Burnham.
» Impact: Pilares is injured on the play, and Hawaii’s second-leading receiver is out for the game. He is one of four starters to miss every offensive snap.
» Hawaii slot receiver Greg Salas: "We definitely missed Kealoha. He’s a big part of our offense. He’s an explosive playmaker. He’s done it all season. It affected our chemistry."

» The Play: CB John Flanders intercepts QB Shane Austin’s pass and returns it 54 yards for a touchdown.
» Impact: Tulsa’s defense makes another big play — and then again on the next series when Moniz returns from injury and Arnick takes another interception back, again for a 54-yard touchdown and a 24-7 lead.
» Austin: "I was trying to throw it away. … I tried to throw it out of bounds, but I didn’t get enough on it. Their guy was in my face. But I have to do better. This one was on me. That’s the way it goes sometimes."

4. Capping a great career

» The Play: WR Greg Salas catches a 5-yard touchdown pass from Moniz.
» Impact: The touchdown caps a 14-play, 76-yard drive by Hawaii to open the second half in which Salas catches five passes for 46 yards. Salas finishes the game — the last of his Hawaii career — with 13 catches for a career-high 214 yards and two touchdowns. He sets the single-season school records for receptions (119) and yards (1,889).
» Salas: "Right now I just have to get this taste out of my mouth with the loss. But I’m sure I’ll look back on it and be happy with what I did here and what I was able to accomplish and all of my teammates and coaches putting me in position to do that."

5. Deadly Damaris

» The Play: WR Damaris Johnson takes a screen pass from QB G.J. Kinne, cuts through the Hawaii defense and goes for a 59-yard gain.
» Impact: On the next play Kinne passes to WR Jameel Owens for a 15-yard touchdown, and Tulsa’s lead is back to 13 points. Johnson also scored on a 67-yard run later in the quarter, giving Tulsa a 41-28 lead. Johnson amassed 326 all-purpose yards and completed his junior season with an NCAA-record 7,796 for his career.
» Kinne: "It seems like he breaks records every week. The exciting thing is, I know we’ve got another year, another summer and another offseason together."
