Waipahu man surrenders to police in stabbing death

A 29-year-old Waipahu man suspected of fatally stabbing a 27-year-old man Sunday morning in Waipahu surrendered to police today.

The Honolulu medical examiner identified the victim as Santhony Albert, 27, of Waipahu.

Police said Albert was stabbed during an argument with a 29-year-old man he had been drinking with at about 1 a.m. Sunday. Albert died at a hospital, police said.

Police said the suspect turned himself in at the Pearl City police station.

He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree and on a warrant.
