Delta flight to Kona returns to Los Angeles because of hydraulic problem

LOS ANGELES >> A Delta flight en route to Hawaii was forced to return to Los Angeles International Airport after the pilot reported a problem with the plane’s hydraulic system.

Airport spokesman Albert Rodriguez said the problem occurred on Flight 1299, which was slated for takeoff at 1:55 p.m. today (11:55 a.m. Hawaii time) bound for Kona.

Rodriguez says the Boeing 757-200, which was carrying 185 passengers and crew members, returned safely to LAX, where passengers were rerouted.
