Waipahu man charged with murder in stabbing
A 29-year-old Paiwa Street man was charged yesterday in the stabbing death of another Waipahu man early Sunday morning.
Peter David was charged with second-degree murder and second-degree assault and was being held at the Alapai cellblock in lieu of $100,000 bail.
A witness told detectives that David fought with Santhony Albert, 27, in front of Albert’s home on Awanei Street in lower Waipahu at about 1 a.m., according to a police affidavit filed in District Court.
At one point, David chased Albert down a nearby street.
An acquaintance intervened and helped Albert walk back to his home, where he collapsed with at least one stab or puncture wound to the upper left side of his body, police said.

David then approached Albert carrying rocks in each hand before the acquaintance intervened again. David then left, police said.
Paramedics took Albert in critical condition to Hawaii Medical Center West, where he was pronounced dead.
On Monday, David had an uncle drive him to the Pearl City police station where he surrendered.
