Man arrested at bus stop after trying to break into a vehicle

Police arrested a 44-year-old homeless man at a Chinatown bus stop after he allegedly tried to break into a vehicle nearby.

Police said a 47-year-old man was awakened by a loud noise outside. When he looked outside, he saw a man entering his vehicle at about 2:20 a.m. today.

Officers searched the area and a witness informed police that the suspect is at a  bus stop at 105 N. Hotel St.

The victim identified the suspect, and police arrested him on suspicion of first-degree unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.
