A pickup driver who was in a collision on Likelike Highway Friday night died over the weekend.

The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s office identified the man as Steven Soriano, 36, of Honolulu. He died at the hospital on Sunday.

An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.

The crash happened at the intersection of Likelike Highway and Valley View Drive about 10:43 p.m. Friday.

Police said Soriano was driving a 1993 Ford F-150 pickup towards Honolulu when he made a left-hand turn into the path of a 2008 Ford F-350 pickup headed towards Kaneohe.

Soriano was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the truck, police said. He sustained critical injuries.

The driver of the Ford F-350 went to the Queen’s Medical Center in good condition. Police said the 35-year-old Honolulu man was wearing a seat belt.

Police said speed may have been a factor and didn’t immediately know if alcohol or drugs played a role.
