The Department of Health issued a revised, shortened recall list of food products produced by First Commercial Kitchen LLC.

The list may be revised in the future as other products are removed from the recall list, the department said.

The local food manufacturer failed to show it had done proper testing of the products it produces and failed to keep records of testing, the Health Department said.

The Health Department said the previous list of recalled products it issued Tuesday should be disregarded.

The Health Department was contacted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which discovered the processing plant’s deficiencies during a recent inspection and tested two products, which were found to have unsafe pH levels, an indication they could be a breeding ground for bacterium that causes botulism.

The Health Department said in a news release yesterday that it recognizes the company’s records may include inaccurate and outdated information due to its questionable record-keeping practices. 

Any business that can provide sufficient documentation and evidence of product safety should contact the Health Department to have its products removed from the list.
