Kauai golf course gains recognition

PRINCEVILLE, KAUAI » The Makai Golf Club at the St. Regis Princeville Resort has been named one of "America’s 100 Best Golf Shops" by Golf World magazine.

Makai was among 25 clubs named in the Resort Course category. Shops were judged on revenue per square foot and per round of golf; appearance, layout, and product displays; and successful promotions and initiatives.

Makai Golf Club, managed by Troon Golf, has long been considered one of Hawaii’s premier championship layouts, featuring 27 holes of golf in the spectacular Princeville Resort on Kauai’s north shore. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. in 1971, the course reopened in early 2010 after an extensive 14-month renovation under Jones’ direction. Makai Golf Club now features two uniquely individual courses: the 18-hole Makai Course and the 9-hole Woods Course.

For more information or to reserve tee times at Makai Golf Club, call 826-1912 or visit www.makaigolf.com.
