Two Hilo women charged with crystal meth offenses
Two Hilo women were arrested and charged yesterday with drug offenses involving crystal methamphetamine.
Vice officers, armed with a warrant, stopped and searched Dawn Delatorre-Ganon, 28, at a Hilo shopping center parking lot.
They recovered 5.2 grams of ice, a digital scale, empty resealable plastic packets and an ice pipe from her person, police said. Officers also found 0.4 grams of methamphetamine in the pickup truck they were in.
She was charged that evening with first-degree attempted methamphetamine trafficking, second-degree promotion of a dangerous drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $305,000.
Police also arrested Jacqueline “Jackie” Markham, who was seated with Delatorre-Ganon in the truck, and charged her with third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bail was set at $4,000.
The two were unable to post bail and made their initial court appearances today.
