Cell phone leads to robbery suspect
A 34-year-old man charged Friday in connection with a robbery committed nearly a year ago has his abandoned cell phone to blame.
Lawren T. Jesus, of no local address, was being held on $40,000 bail.
A woman, 55, said she was working by herself in her Aiea office on March 17, 2010, when she left the room, returned, found the man, and found her wallet missing from her purse, police said.
When she confronted the suspect, he shoved her into a wall and fled, but in the commotion dropped his cell phone, police said. The phone was recovered and his identity discovered, police said.
He was located Friday, arrested and identified in a police lineup.
