A 21-year-old Waianae man who allegedly choked his ex-girlfriend and put her into his car, was arrested yesterday in Aiea. 

Police said the man showed up at the 21-year-old woman’s house about 2 p.m., got into an argument and broke the woman’s cellphone.  

He applied a chokehold, knocking the woman out, police said. The woman recalled being carried to the man’s vehicle when she regained consciousness and driven toward Aiea Heights Trail, police said. 

The woman reported the incident to a police officer who was working on special duty nearby.  Officers arrested the man on suspicion of abuse, unlawful imprisonment, and criminal property damage for breaking the phone.
