Following a perfect opening week, the Hawaii softball team moved down a spot in one of the national polls and up a place in the other.
The Rainbow Wahine checked in at No. 9 in the USA Today/NFCA poll released today, down from eighth in the preseason ranking. They appeared at No. 12 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll, up from 13th to open the season.
The Wahine went 5-0 last week to win the Oceanic Time Warner Cable Paradise Classic. They depart on their first road trip of the season on Wednesday and will play in the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic starting Friday. They will play Utah, Long Beach State, No. 14 Oregon, No. 18/19 Stanford and Cal State Northridge in the tournament.
