Korean thespian courts 4,000 fans in Japan but will return to Hawaii

Actor Jung Joon Ho was in Hawaii for the past two weeks after a successful fan meeting in Japan. Four thousand fans received tickets to his fan club meeting, and several thousand were turned away.

Jung is scheduled to get married March 25 at the W Hotel in Seoul. His emcees are his best friends and fellow actors Shin Hyun Joon and Tak Jaeh Hoon. Like many other Korean celebrities, Jung will return to Hawaii for his honeymoon. He was recently in the TV series "IRIS," but his character was killed in the show, so it’s not likely that he will appear in an anticipated sequel.

THIS WEEK’S SYNOPSES

"It’s Okay, Daddy’s Girl"
Episodes 16 and 17 (Last Episode)

Tonight, 6:45 p.m.: Se-yon comes back home, and the whole family is busy preparing food to take to Hyuk-gi and the gang. But Jong-seok’s threatening call to Gi-hwan puts a damper on the festivities. Pil-seok persuades Gi-hwan to check into his rehab facility. Jong-seok stands trial for the hit-and-run and forging of official documents, as well as Deok-gi’s death.

Tonight, 7:45 p.m.: Gi-hwan, Pil-seok and Byung-chun testify against Jong-seok and his father, but Deok-gi’s homicide charge is thrown out due to lack of evidence. Jong-seok goes to jail for a year on the hit-and-run and forgery charges. Hyuk-gi and Wook-gi vow to bring justice. Chae-ryung gets an offer to work in China for a few years.

"Smile, Mom"
Episodes 18 and 19

Tomorrow, 7:45 p.m.: After Yoo-ra loses her memory, she keeps pushing Shin-yong away and wants to be with Bomi all the time. Bomi tells Mo-roo that maybe she feels that way because Yoo-ra saw her mother doing something she shouldn’t be doing. Dallae skips her singing lessons to work at a shopping network. When Bok-hee finds out, she asks Dallae’s teacher to punish her severely.

Tuesday, 7:45 p.m.: Shin-yong confronts Bomi and tells her that she knows that Bomi made the 911 call to report Yoo-ra’s accident. But when they check the phone records, Shin-yong finds no 911 call. Dallae fires Bok-hee as her manager. A student sees Min-joo and Kang-so holding each other at school in the middle of the night.

"Athena"
Episodes 9 and 10

Wednesday, 7:45 p.m.: Hye In gets tortured by terrorists right in front of Jung Woo. Terrorists tell Jung Woo to bring the SNC, a key component of a nuclear reactor, if he wants to save Hye In. Jung Woo decides to steal the SNC and save Hye In. He secretly opens the safe, but when he reaches for the SNC, NTS agents surround him, pointing guns at him.

Thursday, 7:45 p.m.: Jung Woo gets suspended for taking the SNC. He goes to Japan on his own to investigate Dr. Kim Myung Guk’s death. He then realizes that what Dr. Kim Myung Guk gave him before death is an important key to solving the mystery.

"New Tales of Gisaeng"
Episodes 1 and 2

Friday, 7:45 p.m.: "New Tales of Gisaeng" centers around Buyonggak, the best and only traditional gisaeng house in Korea. It’s headed by Oh Hwa-ran, the head gisaeng. She runs the place with Soon-deok, who’s in charge of the kitchen. Soon-deok learned traditional Korean cooking from Hwa-ran’s mother, who is now retired.

Saturday, 7:45 p.m.: Dan Saran is a dance major living with her single father and a sister. She has a crush on Damo but can’t pursue him. She’s approached by Do-hwa to become a gisaeng. Damo is the son of a businessman who seems to care more about his dog than his own son.
