Two men wanted in attempted robbery in Hilo restaurant parking lot

Big Island police are looking for two men who tried to rob a 57-year-old Hilo man in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant Sunday night.

Police said that the two unknown men tried to take the man’s wallet sometime between 9 and 10:30 p.m. while he was in the McDonald’s restaurant parking lot at 255 Kinoole St.

One of the suspects is described as 5-feet 11-inches tall, husky, with shoulder-length black hair, wearing a baseball cap backward. The other was described as 6 feet tall, 185 pounds with short hair and diamond earrings.

Police are looking for a couple who helped the victim and for any other witnesses who were in the area during the robbery attempt.
