Police arrested a Waialua man who assaulted an officer responding to a report of a verbal argument in Kaneohe yesterday morning.
Police said they responded to the call at the home about 1:40 a.m. When officers instructed the suspect to leave the residence, he turned around and assaulted one of them.
The man 24, was subdued and arrested.
Both the officer and suspect sustained injuries and were treated at a nearby hospital.
The suspect was released pending investigation.
