Hawaii will host a two-day, four-match international pro soccer tournament at Aloha Stadium Feb. 23 and 25, 2012, organizers have announced.

The Hawaiian Islands Invitational, which will feature a representative from Major League Soccer and three international teams to be announced, will be shown on several ESPN International networks and ESPN3.com, according to ESPN Regional Television.

“We are appreciative to the Hawai’i Tourism Authority efforts in making this event a reality,” said David Matlin, Executive Director of the Hawaiian Islands Invitational. “The international flavor of the Hawaiian Islands Invitational will help strengthen Hawaii’s position as a destination of choice among Pacific Rim countries. We are also excited to have Hawaii’s flagship carrier, Hawaiian Airlines, as our official airline for the tournament.”
