Get fashion fix, deals at Ala Moana event
Ala Moana Center’s Shop A Le’a event returns Monday with a week of deals, more than 100 in-store events, giveaways and a trio of fashion shows, including the world debut of the South by Andy South collection and the debut of Lovelessizm’s women’s collection.
The event is also a homecoming for fashion director Lynne Hanzawa O’Neill, whose New York-based Hula Inc. produces fashion shows for clients such as Tommy Hilfiger, Vivienne Tam, Perry Ellis, Nicole Miller, BCBG Max Azria and Rock & Republic. She was the inspiration for Lynne Camryn, a character portrayed by Margaret Cho in an episode of "Sex and the City," and was also a consultant for the television show and "Sex and the City: The Movie."
O’Neill will be a guest at the "Catwalk 101" event at 6 p.m. Wednesday on Centerstage, during which she will instruct five aspiring models in the do’s and don’ts of strutting the runway. She will also be a special guest prior to the Spring Trends fashion show at 6 p.m. on Centerstage. The show will highlight spring’s international fashion trends and O’Neill will speak about her "Rules of the Runway" behind-the-scenes experiences and take questions from the audience.
A complete guide to the events and deals is available at www.AlaMoanaCenter.com. Event guides will also be available throughout the center beginning Monday, and following @AlaMoanaCenter on Twitter.com will give you access to up-to-the-minute deals and reminders about any special offers.
