Taxi driver assaulted on South King Street

A man who got into a “traffic incident” with a taxi driver wound up assaulting the taxi driver and stealing money from him in lower Makiki early this morning.

The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. in front of Club Splash on South King Street.

Police said that after the 53-year-old taxi driver was blocked from moving he was assaulted by a 31-year-old Palolo man who reached into the driver’s pants pockets and took cash.
