UH baseball: Rainbows move to 3-0 in WAC
Freshman Jarrett Arakawa struck out a career-high nine in seven innings to lead Hawaii to a 5-3 victory over Sacramento State to complete a doubleheader sweep on Saturday night at Les Murakami Stadium.
Lenny Linsky struck out David Del Grande with the tying run at third base to seal the Rainbows’ 3-2 victory in the opener.
Linsky allowed his first earned run of the season but managed to pick up his fifth save.
Breland Almadova and Michael Blake hit RBI doubles as UH scored all three of its runs in the third inning.
Brandon Sandoval pitched a complete game for the Hornets (9-23, 0-3 Western Athletic Conference), allowing four hits with five walks and two strikeouts.
Connor Little (3-1) allowed three hits and one run in 5 1/3 innings to pick up the victory for the Rainbows (17-14, 3-0), who have won five in a row and six of seven.
