City and state officials are testing outdoor siren warning systems in several areas on Oahu today.

From 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., city Department’s of Emergency Management and Facility Maintenance and Hawaii State Civil Defense will be testing outdoor siren warning systems in the following areas:

>> Maili south, beachside of Farrington Highway near Kaukama Road;

>> Crestview Park in Waipio;

>> Waimalu Elementary School in Aiea, kokohead of Kaahumanu Street off Moanalua Road;

>> And Upper Nuuanu at Pali Highway and Waokanaka Street. 

The tests are being conducted to ensure that these sirens are operating at full power and providing optimal range, city officials said.
