>> Hawaii U.S. Reps. Mazie Hirono and Colleen Hanabusa voted last week against HR 910, which denies the Environmental Protection Agency the power to regulate greenhouse-gas emissions linked to climate change and challenges the science upon which those regulations are based. Hirono and Hanabusa voted for an amendment to HR 910, which states Congress accepts EPA’s “scientific findings … that climate-change is occurring, is caused largely by human activities, and poses significant risks for public health and welfare.” A “How Your Lawmakers Voted” chart on B7 Sunday incorrectly listed their votes on those measures.
>> Kenneth Clem, the 65-year-old cruise ship passenger who died Wednesday while snorkeling off Kahaluu Beach Park in Kona, was from Humble, Texas, not Humbolt as was reported in a Page B2 “Neighbor Islands” brief yesterday.
