SINGER Emma Veary was filmed at the Halekulani’s House Without a Key Friday for PBS Hawaii’s “Na Mele: Emma Veary at Halekulani.” It will premiere June 5 at 7 p.m.

Appearing with Emma on Friday were her daughter, hula dancer Robyn Kneubuhl, pianist Randy Hongo and harpist Nyle Hallman. The show was emceed by isle PBS chief Leslie Wilcox and singer Jimmy Borges. Also performing were singers Nina Kealiiwahamana and Tony Conjugation and hula dancer Beverly Noa. Robert Cazimero spoke. Jimmy sang at the end of the evening. The place was packed. About 70 PBS guests attended, including supporters Catherine Ching, Raymond Tam, the Clarence T.C. Ching Foundation’s Steve Gilley, UH Chancellor Virginia Hinshaw and former HSTA president and current PBS board member Joan Husted. Halekulani Corp. senior officers Takashi Nakayama, Yoshinori Maeda, Peter Shaindlin and Patricia Tam were there as well …

FORMER Diamond Head gal-about-town Jany Cataldo, now living in L.A., married businessman Charles Davenport March 28. They did not need a wedding planner. “We woke up one morning and decided to get married in the afternoon,” said Jany, who is full of surprises. She said from L.A. Monday that they will have a reception here May 21, followed by receptions in Jany’s England, Charles’ eastern North Carolina and then in L.A. to wind things up. They have known each other about a year … Anara Spa at Kauai’s Grand Hyatt is featured in Playboy magazine’s May issue, on newsstands and online now. THE KAHALA Wine & Food Classic gets under way tonight at the hotel with a five-course wine dinner. Another five-course wine dinner is scheduled tomorrow night. OVER AT HILTON Hawaiian Village, some of the “Hawaii Five-0” April 11 episode was filmed at Tropics. So veteran bartender Rocky Nago’s boss said to come up with a cocktail named after the series. Rocky says the Tropics’ “Five-0” cocktail is an offshoot of the popular blue Hawaii, jazzed up by using raspberry vodka and strawberry puree. Rocky’s wife, Kris Nago, is an award-winning server at Hilton’s Bali Steak and Seafood restaurant. The eatery has won the AAA Four Diamond award for the 22nd consecutive year …

MORIMOTO’S Restaurant in the Edition hotel was also featured in the April 11 “Five-0” program and Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto was seen singing karaoke in the show. The chef is also a talented fundraiser, raising more than $100,000 at his dinner March 23 to help Japan’s tsunami victims. A good chunk of the total came from heated bidding between isle resident Nobuhide Torii and Lorraine Bell of New York for a dinner for 10 cooked by Morimoto at the winner’s home. When the bidding reached $18,300, Morimoto said he would cook for both of them …
