Dixie State claims title

Dixie State clinched its second PacWest baseball title in three years, finishing 22-10.

MEN’S GOLF

Vulcans’ Snyder honored

Hawaii-Hilo’s Blake Snyder, the medalist at last week’s PacWest men’s golf championship in St. George, Utah, was named the conference’s freshman of the year and co-player of the year.

Snyder finished the 54-hole event with a 3-under 213 to help the Vulcans to their second team title in four years.  BYU-Hawaii’s John Scholari was second with a 216.

Snyder shared the player-of-the-year honor with Grand Canyon’s Matt Pridey. Grand Canyon’s Jacob Golembewski was the newcomer of the year and Dixie State’s Reed McArthur coach of the year.

The top seven finishers were named to the All-PacWest first team, including Snyder, Scholari and Travis Russell of UHH. Ale Radice-Fossati from Hawaii Pacific, Hawaii-Hilo’s Neil Cabico and Skylar Schone of BYU-Hawaii were named to the second team.
