ABIDJAN, Ivory Coast >> A resident of a restive suburb of Ivory Coast’s commercial capital says 29 bodies have been found in a new mass grave.

Yopougon resident Brahima Bakayoko says militants loyal to arrested strongman Laurent Gbagbo swept through the neighborhood amid celebrations over Gbagbo’s April 11 arrest. He says they killed two young men and forced residents to bury them. An Associated Press reporter visited the site late Saturday and spoke to other residents whose family members were killed.

The U.N. human rights office in Geneva said Friday they were investigating reports of a mass grave in the suburb.

Yopougon had voted in large numbers for Gbagbo, whose refusal to cede power after losing a November poll plunged the country into chaos and violence.
