Police arrested a 24-year-old man after he allegedly hit, kicked and choked his wife early Sunday morning in Kahaluu.

According to police, the couple were arguing when the man struck and kicked his wife, causing abrasions and swelling. The man then put his wife in a choke hold, causing her to lose consciousness.

The suspect was arrested for felony abuse of a family or household member.
