Hawaii Army Reserve officer to receive prestigious leadership award at Pentagon

The Army is scheduled to present Hawaii-based Army Reserve officer Capt. Haz Anguay with a prestigious leadership award today.

Anguay was selected to receive the General Douglas MacArthur Leadership award for his exemplary leadership abilities and the immense level of commitment he demonstrated as commander of D Company, 100th Battalion, 442nd Infantry Regiment.

The battalion’s commander, Lt. Col. Kimo Dunn, says Anguay led more than 130 reservists, both abroad and at home, to create the strongest unit in the battalion.

He says Anguay is a combat-tested warrior who has demonstrated excellence not only in uniform, but as a husband, father, citizen and patriot.

Army Chief of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey is due to present the award at the Pentagon today.
