Koloa shooting suspect surrenders to Kauai police

A man suspected of shooting a woman at a Koloa home Sunday night barricaded himself in the home before surrendering to police about 2 hours later.

The shooting was reported at about 8:19 p.m. Police said an ambulance took the woman to Wilcox Hospital for treatment of what appeared to be a gunshot would to the leg.

When officers arrived at about 8:23 p.m., the suspect barricaded himself in the Olona Street home, but surrendered at about 10:30 p.m. without incident.

 No other details were available, a Kauai County spokeswoman said.
